surviving the cirrhosis ascites crisis 2018

ascites refers to the crisis when the liver can no longer breakdown alcohol.

toxic fluid pools around the liver and has to be surgically removed via a syringe extraction (paracentesis).

this toxic accumulation can become septic and lead to deadly inflammation.

the excess of toxic ammonia due to the liver's low functionality, can causes ammonia to fog up the brain, leading to confusion and "hepatic encephalopathy."

the next steps after reaching this crisis point:

take prescribed diuretics

quit drinking

low sodium diet

medications to reduce the pressure exerted by the dysfunctional liver on all systems, but especially the esophagus

anti-nausea pills

after six months of sobriety, a heavy course of meds can knock out hepatitis that may be also tearing up the liver.

sweetheart lost his dad last night.

it was not ever any father's goal to have his son pre-decease him.

so some kind of pact was made, of the heart, in the natural order.

2 and a half years out is awesome!

positive energy and natural healings.

last go round with the most recent alcohol relapse ended lad up puking his guts and with an IV and ambulance.

let's not do that anymore!

cirrhosis is a little understood disorder, but a common secret disease, lurking in the bodes of people who drink alcohol or have other pre-disposition such as fatty liver disease.

through the process of studying this interesting condition, i lost a friend to it already, and spoke with two women who lost their brothers to it.

take it seriously!

fight for your life!
